MIMAX™ converts an existing vertical gel eletrophoresis tank into an automatic sandwich components cleaner. This unique product displaces the conventional and tedious chore of washing electrophoresis plates and components by hand. MIMAX™ reduces contact with potentially hazardous reagents and prevents chipping and breakage of glass plates. Also useful for storing “sandwich” components or as a work station when assembling “sandwich.” MIMAX™ fits inside the existing tank of a vertical gel unit and holds four glass plates (16 x 18 cm and 31.5 x 18 cm) plus clamps and spacers. To clean plates and components after electrophoresis place a magnetic stirring bar inside tank, insert the MIMAX™ rack into tank. Load plates and components. Add water and ordinary detergent, then place assembly on a magnetic stirrer. Components can be cleaned for as long as necessary completely unattended.
